    Dartist Amelia Velázquez's "THEy Can't Live Without! yOu", is is tongue-in-cheek commentary on modern consumerism and the exigence of climate change action. This short form multi-media video uses a mix of archival video footage of modern beauty influencers and stop motion college. The accompanying audio consists of an influencers promoting products juxtaposed with eerie static fuzz creating an uneasy feeling in the viewer. Her opening statement in the video is twisted and contrasted throughout this short film and resolves with an urgent statement. While this short opens with a climate change issue, it quickly switches to an observation of the dangers and consequences of indulgence and conspicuous consumption. Though short in length, this project effectively and concisely makes a strong artistic statement through a very focused lens. In all, it demonstrates her ability to integrate social action and dartistry, a core Dart value.

Notes: Strong statement and captivating visual effects. Video boarder is slightly distracting and has warped orientation, but it adds to the DIY stylization of the video.
