My laptop early in the night whence i was building out the cue

wow, i mean wow! how many times does one person get to decide what the entire of mid-missouri will listen to when they tune to 88.1 on their radio dial. what an incredible opportunity.

these past few weeks i have picked up a new unpaid opportunity where i get to shadow seasoned DJs DJ Momo and DJ Freshfish in their workinonit show from 12am-2am on Monday mornings. this experience is getting me savvy on all the inner workings of radio on my path toward DJship. 

this week, the boys handed me the opportunity to plug my laptop into the aux and drive the command of the show. i helped us curate a food-themed show with plenty of fun and eccentric picks ranging across many different genres. 

this is what the command of the radio deck looks like. its blurry because its actually a secret project that is automatically blurred and blockchain sensored to most devices. it is certainly not because the studio is dark and i had the iPhone long exposure thing on and i pulled my phone away too quick.

while i was hard at work driving the radio spaceship with all its knobs and nodes, DJ Freshfish and special guest Owen Zimmerman (idk his DJ name i forgot it) were equally hard at work building game winning outfits on Dress To Impress (DTI) - a popular fashionista roblox game. i don't think they ever even placed on the leaderboard. 

for the sake of archival, i built the list of the songs i played on the radio. i will list them at the end of this blog post

as it was a food-related night, we talked about our favorite thanksgiving foods, what we ate during the day, and i think the vietnam war came up for some reason? in any case, we closed the night with drake's pound cake instrumental, and we all took turns freestyling. those who witnessed that event would know it was not the greatest lyrical session.

i had a great time DJing last night and i feel so much more prepared for my own DJship that will soon come into fruition. keep an eye out for DJ Disaster!
